Photos for the Week

This is Umlazi-BB Chapel. It is in the Umlazi Township in the BB section. There is a second chapel in this township - Umlazi-W. The church has built some very nice chapels which are significant contributions to the communities. Note the brick drive and parking lot. This is very common even around homes. We don't know the reason for brick instead of asphalt or cement - maybe the abundance of inexpensive labor.

This is our office which we established in a spare bedroom. Sandy sits on the left and Arlo on the right. We have a nice view out the window of our veranda and "jungle patch" in the backyard. There are days we spend many hours here. Some times all day. We have had days beginning at 7 am and ending at 9 pm all in the office. The list of PEF loan applicants we are working with has swelled to over 50 and continues to grow. Some have had loans disbursed to the schools and some are just starting the application process. We have much of the Durban mission yet to visit and our list of applicants continues to grow at a steady pace.

One of the large trees in the back provides a canopy the full width of the yard and over part of the house. These flowers were just starting to bloom and soon filled the top of the tree.
