Swaziland Trip Photos

The semi-annual South Africa Durban Mission couples conference was held in Swaziland at the Timbali Lodge. This photo is of the 12 couples plus President and Sister Mann. Most of the couples arrived on Wednesday and left on Saturday. Because of a commitment in Durban, we arrived on Thursday and left Sunday after taking care of PEF business in the area. We will be making regular visits to Swaziland - a six hour drive from Durban.

The unit with the car in front is where we stayed.

This is our room - very plush, with all tile floors - the bath had double bowl sinks, large shower and jetted tub.
The pool at the lodge - the conference room we used was behind the photograper overlooking the pool.

During our visit to the Swazi Cultural Center we role played parts in a traditional village. Sandy was bummed that she ended up second wife to the chief.

Inside the chief's hut we posed for a picture. The white guy in native dress in the center is Elder Griesemer. Being the oldest (76) he played the part of the grandfather and ended up wearing our guides native costume.

We were treated to a private performance of native song and dance with about 30 plus performers. A very talented group chosen from all over Swaziland.
Some really got into the swing of things - others (not mentioning names) declined to participate.
A short drive from the Cultural Center is the largest water fall in Swaziland.

Isn't the gospel of Jesus Christ wonderful. We have arrived in Orange Park Florida, we have meet the elders here and are anxious to get to work. You never told us about the rows and rows of trees you drive through. We also had to make a turn around, going through a small area in Mississippi which we were surprised by the small homes out in the very rural area surrounded by trees and under growth. The sounds there were like those you would hear in a scary swamp movie.(it was night of course)
